M.2 Moving Toward Gen 4 Gen 5 and How M.2 Socket Development
M.2 is moving from Gen 3 (8 GT/s) toward Gen 4 (16 GT/s) and even Gen 5 (32 GT/s). PCI-SIG published M.2 Gen 4 standard in Q4 2020, and released M.2 Gen 5 proposed solution in Apr. 2021. Argosy offers over 50 spec mix of M.2 Gen 4 and has been used in Intel's Horseshoe Bend foldable laptop.
